The place is called Scuola del cuoio and its in Florence, Italy. If you ever get a chance to visit Florence Italy and are in the market for leather products, check this place out. They are world famous and made leather sets for previous US presidents, the Queen of England and other famous people. All items are completely handmade on their property and I bought this satchel for around $200. Its actually a school.
They make everything from leather jackets to bags to belts. And if there is ever a problem with your product, they guarantee it (this isn't really marketed as the shop is very small) will last and are willing to repair any defects (assuming you can get it to Florence of course... they're not like large corporations with advanced factories and warranty departments). They still operate old school and you can tell by their pictures how they run things.
Also, just discovered this thread and I am completely loving it! I've always been a BIFL'er and have always been on the lookout for quality products. I will probably make a few more posts detailing some of the things I've found to be great to me.
