Here comes an ultra controversial opinion. Earmuffs children. I've seen a lot of posts here where "saving money for a wedding" is mentioned. I find it to be a personal finance oxymoron to preach stopping the micro-burning of money (coffees, eating out, drinks, etc) only to then state that the end goal is to have a money bonfire via a wedding. If you love someone and want a healthy relationship perhaps don't kick it off putting yourself in a bad financial situation by burning $20,000 so other people can get fat, drunk and dance for a few forgettable hours. Save the money, have a simple wedding, enjoy it when you retire early at the finish line. Just my 2 cents. Ok, burn me at the stake now.
