Hey everyone!Quick question here. I'm looking to build my own frame for some solar cells I have. I need a relatively large panel to fit all the cells (3x6 feet). Because of this I need a large piece of clear Material on the front (typically glass or plexiglass is used). I'm not looking for longevity or extreme durability of these cells. My biggest concern is rain. That being said, any ideas as to what I could use for a clear material for the cells to be up against that is cheap? I would prefer not to use glass or plexiglass because it would cost close to $100 for that piece and for this type of project it seems a bit much. I would love something crystal clear and rigid-ish (Like visqueen, but that isn't clear unfortunately). Keep in mind this whole thing will be within a wooden/metal frame. The backing right now will most likely be either a silicone encapsulant, a rubber encapsulant, or just a piece of wood. The front part is what I am concerned with (where the sun comes in and hits the cells).Any ideas as to how I could make this project effective, yet cheap would be great. Thanks! via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2uqNUVo
