I often read in here about small victories being big boosts to motivation to pay off debts. I spent a year unemployed after the company I was working for overseas nationalized and sent all us American's packing, living off of my savings, credit cards, and some borrowed cash. I'm working again now, in the US, at about 60% of my old salary, and it's been a tedious process but I've followed suit with some of the other members of this sub and set goals.
Today I paid off my account with the smallest balance remaining. Just to have a 0 in the ledger I paid a chunk more than the "minimum monthly". In 3-4 months I'll pay off the account with the highest interest rate (now also the account with the lowest balance).
Progress.
