Since I got into bi4l I noticed I have bought a tons of stainless stuff. Also, quite a lot of wood, alu, some glass, a little titanium and less and less plastic (with a number of obvious exceptions). Providing you do not live close to the sea and the item is a good design, many stainless items may well outlive us. In my particular case some of the stainless items which I think are a good buy and have served me well for years: Klean kanteen, double walled tea mugs, shot glasses, Leatherman's & gerbers, hip flasks, high carbon stainless Opinel's and Victorinox chef knife, bathroom and kitchen racks, hooks, shelves, sinks, countertops and almost every kitchen tool (one stamped piece colander, 2 piece sieve) as well as any pot not meant for skillet type duty, thicker bottom is much better for any stainless pot, certain tools, nail cutter, tweezers and other personal care items, Fiskars scissors and dozens more. How about you? Although there are various qualities and types of stainless steel, I have found for most applications it does not matter overly much. Sometimes certain things are -inexplicable- hard to find in all stainless versions, for instance clothes drying racks.
