So I messed up in so many ways that I barely even understand and I need to know what's my best option on fixing this. I knew someone who was selling his 2014 Chevy Cruze and he said that he was just wanting to transfer the loan to whoever would buy it. He said the loan was for 11,500.

I later found out he lied about multiple things like the car being 2014 LT not 2015 LTZ. The loan was for 14,000 not 11,500. But I didn't find out any of this till we were sitting in front of the loan manager. My credit is abysmal at like 580 and the bank would only approve me for 12,000 so instead of just walking out without doing the deal the seller said he would take out a personal loan for the remainder of 2,000 so that he could still sell me the car and get the 14,000 loan off his name. And as I knew there would be fees and sales tax I walked into the bank knowing it would be around 14,000 in total I told him that we could tally everything up and that I would not pay a dollar over 14k for the car. Sales tax and everything else included.

So since the bank had already given me the max amount they could approve me for they did not include the money for sales tax in the loan and I haven't been able to pay the 1300$ sales tax that California needs so that I can register the vehicle. That's just too much money for me to come up with right now and the car has been sitting for close to a year. Right now I owe 10,600$ on the auto loan and the car is worth about 10k but I don't know how to go about selling it when the bank owns it and I'm not sure if I even can sell it unregistered and sales tax still unpaid. Someone please tell me all the ways I messed up so that I can never make the same mistakes again.
