For this winter i have decided to get a boot that will last me for a while. The Bean Boot is praised on both /r/malefashionadvice and /r/buyitforlife for its durability, quality and the companys policies. What im confused with is regarding to sizing. As i understand the boot is extra big to allow a person use thick socks for layering.

Ive heard many different opinions on what size you should choose, i.e that you should take a size down if its a lined version, that you should only size down if you dont wear heavy wool socks. Im a size 43 which in US measures has me choose between the sizes 9 and 10. I assume that Medium D width should be fine for me since i have never had to order specially wide boots.

Since i live in Sweden i have no oppurtunity to try them out in an L.L Beans store nor does any retailer here sell them.

Does anyone here have any advice?
