Hello,

Recently, a friend of mine bought a duplex. He mentioned that his mortgage is $900/month, but he plans on renting the other half of the house for $12-1500. This is actually a common strategy among my coworkers, with many of them reporting a net positive.

Whats the deal here? Is rent in a bubble? Are people really struggling to secure mortgages? And, why aren't develpment companies doing this en masse?
