I dislike Wells Fargo. I currently have a checking and savings account and a little over a grand in savings. I'm about to start college across the country (Portland, Oregon) and I want to switch banks.
Starting a line of credit is a possibility, however, if I were to do that, I wouldn't use the credit card daily. I'd just put enough purchases on it to start a decent line of credit.
Something else I'm also interested in is exclusively having a savings account with no debit or credit card (meaning I would pay for things day to day with cash). Is this a bad idea? Are there even any banks that would host this sort of thing? I know I can't do both of these things at the same time. Or can I?
I do plan on working through school.
Advice? Tips? Anything at all. Where do you think I should bank, and what kind of account should I open?
