I'm still a bit new to trading. I think you'd call me a swing trader. I buy on the dip and wait for the rise. I do some long terms but if I think the dip is good enough and I see some semi short term gain I'll jump.
Having said this I find myself sometimes having a few hundred dollars waiting around to make a move but I don't know what to make a move in. I have a few stocks I watch for highs and lows and I do some research when I'm looking.
I'm wondering what you all do when you have a bit of cash left over that you can throw at something? How do you all go about finding new opportunities?
Basically I have the 15-20 that I watch weekly but I find myself kind of iffy moving on any one of them at any given time so I try to go find some new companies or sectors I may not know about. I tend to goto Google Finance and just see what some of their charts say. I tend to filter by stock price to see what I can afford then go through and look at their histories, read a bit about the company. I don't get to much past that unless something comes up in their news feed. I've been in CARA so I know I should follow what companies have going on and coming up but I also have a ft job that I just kind of just trying out this whole stocks thing.
Any really good sites or advice? I'm all ears.
