I removed my toilet to install a new floor. This toilet had a history of becoming wobbly which I usually fixed by tightening the closet bolts from time to time. When I removed it, I noticed the metal ring didn't look properly set. Here's the type of flange I have. it was secured to the drain pipe, but was not anchored to my slab. The metal ring that is typically held down by the PVC flange was not flush on all sides. On the left it was flush. On the right it protruded up about 1/4 to 1/3 inch which is probably the cause for all my wobbly toilet issues. I was unsure on how to fix this, I really didn't want to do anything to break the PVC and cause me a ton more problems than I have. When I finished my floor, I put the wax ring and toilet back. I carefully tightened the bolts until it didn't wobble. After one final wobble check I heard a pop. The metal ring popped completely off the PVC flange. Now I don't know how to proceed. Video of the current state of the flangeI have a post-tension slab so I'm worried about anchoring any type of flange to the slab. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2tKSWP3
