So I've been dating my girlfriend for 5 years. So obviously I'm open to moving in. However I feel like the deal isn't good for ether of us. It be 200 for her, 300 for me. We get the bedroom she's currently In and her sisters bedroom which would be like a living room plus a bathroom all on the 2nd floor with her parents bedroom. I'm assuming groceries would be extra. I've never moved out before and my parents really only charge me whatever for groceries (25-30 a week give or take). I'm currently saving what I can to put into actually buying a house Becuase I feel like renting is just pissing potential savings money away especially if I live at home for cheap with my parents.
Is what there asking reasonable in everyone's opinion here, and if not how would I go along negotiating down or explaining that it doesn't make sense to do that for me. I do want to move in with her, i more or less am there all the time besides sleeping at my house a few times a week, I just think $500 plus groceries for us to rent one and a half rooms, sharing kitchen, not having a parking spot beyond the road with essentially zero privacy isn't the greatest deal. Again, never been lIn this situation so if someone can pull me down to earth or give me more insite I'd be greatly appreciated.
