Long time lurker. Thanks to this sub, my wife, our jobs and my financial advisor - we have achieved our 5 month emergency fund. In order for this to happen, I had to pay off a low 5 CC balance spread out across multiple cards at 0% specials (with a 3%~4% buy in). I would pay down our cards and sock some away for emergency. As of last week, a goal I thought was impossible was achieved. $0 CC debt and fully stocked 5 month emergency fund.
My wife and I both see how our parents did not save and we are doing our best to set a better example for our kids.
Next step is to pay off mid 5 rental property. I think.
