I’ve messed up proper.
I’m a student in the UK who got a Credit Card about 2 years ago. I had always kept my spending under control and managed to pay off all my bills on time. Until recently that is. I started spending a lot more than I could afford after going through some shitty phases of the young adult life, and I’ve racked up £10,500 in bills now. I’ve paid off as much as £2000 in the past 2 months but I can’t pay anymore.
My parents are funding my education and I am due to finish in a couple months time. I’ve realised this is a colossal fuck up on my part and haven’t told them about it, as I don’t want to cause them any more stress than they are already under.
I really need some help to figure out what to do next. Should I let the card issuer know? I was even thinking of leaving the country, but my father has a card from the same issuer in another country, and I’m afraid they’ll track him down.
Please help me.
