I'm 28, due to some recent medical issues, I was unable to work for a few weeks and got behind. Now I can't pay my rent, was given an eviction, and only given 4 days to get out. I will be able to get a weekly hotel room here soon, I'm a recovering alcoholic who left all his friends behind because of the influences they had on me. I have no friends, my family is almost all dead, so those options are out. I work 40-60 hours a week, $10/hr.
I carry medical insurance thru the marketplace for $250/mo(which I'm not gonna be able to pay this month). I get food stamp benefits of $200/mo. I live on about $60/week 30 of that being gas. My cellphone is going to be turned off Saturday or Sunday, that's a $30 bill I can't pay until Thursday. On Thursday I can get a weekly hotel room for about $300/week. I'm going to try saving money to buy a crappy cheap RV so I can live in it. Does anyone have any advice on what I can do to survive? I manage on about $200/mo for food thru food stamps, I make too much for medicaid, and I have to have insurance due to being a severe asthmatic, without my medicine I will die, and it's ridiculously priced without insurance($700/mo). I have a vehicle which I use to get to work, so I'm going to be sleeping in it, does anyone have ANY other advice, anything I can do that will help? I just got a $10 gym membership that has wifi for my tablet so I can do applications and resumes online, it also has a shower so I can shower each day, etc.
I'm trying hard to find another job, I've applied at 33 places today alone and have interviews monday and tuesday, mostly for jobs making $10-16/hr. I've applied at kitchens, roofing companies, and hotels(for night front desk, could probably get a discount on a room if I get that job) I have no issue working 2 jobs or 3 jobs at a time if I can get the work. But I figure you guys might have some more advice, especially with how to survive from Saturday-Thursday and then beyond that. I cannot go to the homeless shelter, as they are full. I jumped on the waitlist and will show up there everyday @ 4pm like they said to try to get a room each day.
