Hello, I'm 23 years old and just landed my first full time job about a month ago. Currently living rent free with some friends, just paying for food/gas.
I'm debt free and have no car payments. Not planning to take out any loans, but I do need to plan on looking for a newer car soon as mine is getting quite a few miles on it.
I'm making $42,000 a year before taxes. My most recent check was $1157.80 for 2 weeks and my next one will probably be less because I just set up a 403(b) plan at 10%.
I've been looking at apartments closer to my workplace to cut down my hour long commute, but I'm not sure what I should be looking for as far as rent goes. Most places in the area I'm looking at go for $600-800/mo and depending on the place, have addition costs for parking, pets, and utilities, obviously.
Thanks in advance, and if anyone needs more info to give better advice, I'd be happy to provide.
