Current junior engineering student. Had ~$22k in cash of which $5500 was put into Vanguard IRA (S&P 500 ETF).

My last 2 years of college are almost entirely paid for by scholarships, and the remaining couple thousand my parents will pay. I have zero debt, no bills, and great credit.

In 2 weeks I will no longer be employed (internship ends), but again I have basically no expenses and I'm pretty frugal. I can live off ~$250 a month easy.

The $16k left is sitting in a 0.85% APY savings, and I feel comfortable investing about $10k of that into something low risk and relatively liquid in case I do need it (like CD, bond, index fund, not individual stocks).

Any recommendations?
