This happened about a year ago, and it was my Brilliant Mom who did the asking. We were getting new floors, and we were just about to go to Lumber Liquidators to get some Bamboo flooring for our Living room, dining room, and hallway (I forget the square footage but it's a lot, we have a 2300 square foot house I believe) mom decided that since Lowe's was on the way to Lumber Liquidators that we should at least check out their selection, dad wasn't eager because he's sort of frugal and knew that Lowe's would charge more. We go inside, they find something they like at just a hair more than what LL charges, but was way better quality, and looked better. While they were talking about pricing and stuff (not sure of the details I wasn't listening) Mom asks if they could have a deal. They instantly took about $220 off the asking price. No questions, no haggle, from what mom said, they just went "okay, here's your new price" and that was that. I personally didn't check if there were any promotions or sales going on but like they always say: It never hurts to ask.

Just as a rough estimate it was an entire pallet of wood. I'd have to ask Dad about the details.
