Our wonderful elderly neighbors who we loved recently moved into a retirement home and the townhouse next door has been sold to a nice new family we would like to make feel welcome. My wife isn't much of a gift-giver and I'm not much of a homemaker, so I'm clueless what to buy them. Here's what little I know so far:
We live in the DC suburbs.
They are likely not drinkers.
They have two boys under 7 years old.
They are African American. We btw are both generic white folk so there's a slight cultural disconnect there. Want to make sure our gifts are appropriate and kind.
They dress well and drive a newer looking Audi. With taste like that I especially don't want to buy them cheesy junk.
Money is a little tight on our end. Even so, I see this gift as a tone-setter and want to invest in something that would kick our friendship off on the right foot. Maybe around $100 or $150?
Thanks in advance for your help...or for directing me to a more appropriate sub.
