Hello,I want to start by saying thank you to anyone who takes the time to read and respond. I overlooked this problem as minor when I purchased the house but now I'm regretting it.In a ground floor room of my house there has been a wall removed. They took two rooms and made it into one large room.I believe there is a need to reinforce the ceiling as it appears to be sagging in the center of the room. I was thinking using a wooden beam on each side and a micro-laminate beam going across the top, I would like some advice on this aspect if you can give it.I am also focusing on the floor joists in this room. If you would kindly take a look at this http://ift.tt/2sUM79b gallery you will understand my issue. There is a large hump that was caused by some oddly placed boards, and the settling of my house.I don't know how significant the damage is and i'm looking for advice on the next step. I was planning on shortening the perpendicular boards and just flooring over it.This spot of the floor has dropped 2" total but I don't know how long it has been developing as I have only lived here one year. Thanks again for any advice and please ask any questions if I need to clarify something. This is an older home as you can probably tell. This section of the house is not over the basement. I can take more pictures if you need clarification. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2rCCVIT
