I don't believe frugalness is about being cheap. I believe it is about getting the most value for your dollar. That being said I don't mind paying for high quality live/raw kraut. I used to get really good fermented kraut from the Amish but I moved and lost that source.
I plan to start making my own. I unfortunately forgot my crock when I moved and haven't looked into making it since I moved. Until then I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good quality live kraut online or retail. I live in Denver so I have access to stores like Trader Joes, King Soopers, and Whole Foods.
