I used my lawn mower last week, to mow an old lady's grass. I realized I missed a spot, so I came back to finish. But, when I tried to start the mower, it wouldn't start. It would "turn" for whatever effort i put in with the cord(while making typical starting noises), but just instantly die out, after that.I'm not very engine/mechanically savvy. I checked the air filter. It reeks of oil(not sure if this is normal). But, I tried starting it with the air filter off, and it didn't work(so I assume it's not that). The spark plug still seems to be connected fine. The oil was slightly low, but should not be causing these problems.I read online a little bit about how to troubleshoot this. It involved going to a "small engine shop"(which I don't even know what that is), and taking a bunch of things apart, that I don't even know what they are. This seems to happen every year or 2... the lawnmower breaks, and have to buy a new one. Really getting tired of it.Based on what I've said, is there any way to know what is wrong(or what is likely wrong)?I don't want to just start taking random crap apart, if it is obviously not the problem.Any help is much appreciated! via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2qFf2xa
