I am trying to figure out if I should buy my own house in a divorce ... I need to make a spreadsheet to help me figure this out. I am a novice at this. The mortgage is already in my name. So I will have to refi or get a home equit to buy my spouse out. I am going to have to put some money on the house to fix it before I rent it out. If it is rented out it will cover my mortgage.
This would be a nobrainer to buy if I did not have another issue. I need to move house to be in a better school area. Also I will be paying capital gains tax when I sell the house.
So how do I go about plugging all these numbers in so I get a number betond which I should not buy my house.
