I recently acquired a broken LG LED TV that I'd like to fix, but I'm not sure what to try. To begin here is a picture of the problem: http://ift.tt/2tbJSiF I turn the TV on, only the center band immediately develops. It starts yellow, then rapidly fades to white. After a short time the whole screen goes black (not off, but black), and returns looking like the image. The first time I turned on the TV after getting it I could see the LG Logo on startup, but no longer. If I move left or right on the remote, the stripes change a bit, as though they are reflecting the motion I would be making on the Roku menu (its a smart TV). I can hear the clicking of motions on the menu.So with all that in mind, I tried a few things. First, I tried cleaning the ribbon cables that connect the screen to the main board. This did not help. I also looked at all the capacitors and none of them were obviously broken, either leaking or pushed out. Finally, I used a multimeter to check the 12 volt resting voltage of the pins connecting the main board to the power supply. Each pin was correct. What should I check next? Is there a better place to post this question? I haven't been able to find any forum posts that reflect the exact same problem as I am having here.EDIT: The model number is LG 55LF5700 via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2savlp6
