I'm almost done repaying my student loans and have maxed out the equivalent of 401k in Singapore. I don't have a lot of expenses right now and would like to invest most of my savings after putting a few months salary off as an emergency fund.

Looking around, I see quite a few options and need advice on choosing the correct ones:

  1. Index funds - invest in S&P500, seems to be quite the popular advice in this subreddit

  2. Savings plans - recently got introduced to a plan with Prudential. Basically I put in money every month for a few decades and (hopefully) get to withdraw the amount after that. There is a slightly more flexible plan that allows me to withdraw up to a % of money but gives less returns. All in all not sure of any other gotchas for these sort of plans since I don't see them being asked about here

  3. Other bonds, mutual funds, stocks(?) etc. - look into opening an account with Vanguard to find out more of these options, especially those with higher returns (and risk).

  4. Real Estate - Save up money for downpayment on real estate.

  5. Side Businesses - Save up money to hopefully start my own venture next time

Sorry for the lengthy post! There seem to be so many options, so I really hope to get advice on what I should be putting my money in right now. Thanks for your help!
