I have a simple, enjoyable life. People I'm close to are safe and relatively healthy.
It makes me deeply unhappy to see needless suffering. There are plenty of things that we can't contend with, but some seem so direct. For example, people going hungry on the streets, loneliness, misplaced anger.
A lot of this subreddit is about not doing things, but I don't know what to do. It feels like reacting to misfortune isn't the best way to effect any positive change at all. I think I'm missing something important. I'd love to hear about ways I could direct my time more purposefully.
Thanks.
