Hi, I'm 19 years old and live in California. I'm not really involved with finances, loans, etc. The closest thing would probably be me opening a bank account. However, today my sister was given an envelope by my cousin (who lives with my uncle) and it claims that I have unpaid debt. I'm thinking that if my uncle was made aware of this situation he would have hidden the mail but since my cousin found it first (who is probably unaware), the mail was given to my sister. I plan on calling them tomorrow but can I get a heads up on what should I do? Is this a scam? How much information do I give them? What should I do? Thank you for your time.
