So I know BIFL will preach to the high heavens about Darn Tough socks, and I personally wear them and have no problems. However, every single pair I've purchased for my boyfriend has ended up with holes in the heel and sometimes at the front within a few months (like, three). The ones that don't get holes pill up like crazy (even after washing inside-out as recommended).
His feet are significantly less calloused than mine generally are, and he's just wearing them around the house all day. We have wood floors and I've checked for potential snags but that isn't the case.
I've already taken advantage of Darn Tough's replacement program but I'm honestly tired of paying to send them back (the rep that helped me via email was pretty rude, too).
Anyone else have this problem with Darn Tough socks? Any alternatives that have worked for you?
