So a while back I signed up for the Spirit Airlines card with Bank of America. It's $59 a year but the special offer I had waived this fee for the first year. I figured I'd get some benefits from it and close the account before it reached a year old.
I ended up never actually getting any usable miles and closed the account long before I planned to. I called their closure line and after a long conversation with a robot that wasn't able to connect me I decided I was getting nowhere, so I went to the local branch and asked them in person to close the account. They obliged and the process went fairly smoothly, with the representative calling through and having the account closed.
This was about a month ago. Just today I received an e-bill for the account they were supposed to close. It was $0 because I paid off the balance before closing it, but now I'm concerned that somehow the account didn't get closed and I'll be charged the annual fee if I don't fix it by November.
Has anyone else experienced this with Bank of America and knows what I can do?
