had a leak in an internal wall, both sides of the wall had two holes, both got cemented then the whole of the two walls were skimmed. The plaster dried pretty quickly, about 2 days, but the cemented patches were darker on both sides. Partly lack of time to paint and partly waiting as long as possible, it ended up unpainted for about 6 weeks.I painted two weeks ago, one side had a diluted white coat, sucked right in as expected, 2 days, another diluted coat, didn't suck in, another 2 days, then just a light coat over the top.The one side is perfect, no efforescence (sp) and can't tell where the darker patch was.The other side was similar, but after the 2 diluted coats, the patches are darkening slightly, and powerdering slightly.I've been in this situation before in another property and I messed it up.So i've researched and my choices are really slightly sand it down, and keep painting and letting it dry.Or something else?I'm not time bound, i'm convinced the leak itself is long over, but maybe the wall was so deeply wet the cement was drying still? I guess the wall is 8-10 inches thick, but the holes on either side didn't meet in the middle or anything.Shall I wait even longer before attempting another coat?Shall I sand the dust/powder off and do another diluted coat?Shall I sand and do an undiluted coat?I'm really grateful for any advice at all, I hope I didn't break the sub rules in the post.thanks loads via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2qUt01A
