So I locked myself out of my room one evening and my landlord said she would come open the door for me for a fee ($30, is this even legal?) Aand because i was desperate I said okay. She told me to leave the fee in an envelope on the counter and she would drop by the next day and take it, which I did. Now she messages me telling me she'll drop in tomorrow to collect the fee? I'm not sure what happened here, did one of my roommates steal it or did one of the cleaning people (the place I live at has a once a week cleaning service) take it? What should I do? I really don't want to shell out another $30.
