Apologies in advance if this isn't the appropriate sub, but as far as the internet is concerned, nobody has done this before. So I am a metal drummer who, in respect of my neighbors, bought an electronic drumset a few years ago so that the noise would not bother them. I practice 3 or 4 times a day, 15-30 minutes each time. As a result, the censor in the cymbal goes through a decline from working to only playing one sound to playing at weird volumes to only occasionally playing etc. After 3-4 years of this, and spending hundreds on new ones, I decided to open up my cymbal. The censor seemed to work MUCH better without the bottom part of the casing, and I figured that keeping it that way would allow me to squeeze more life out of it.If you didn't want to read all that, here's my question:How would I go about keeping the censor in place/ protecting it when I play it? Would electrical tape work? Or am I just an idiot? (P.S. If I am being an idiot, please say it in a nice way, like "well you tried your best" or something) via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2pqg1Vw
