Hi /r/PersonalFinance

My friend and I noticed a severe lack of education for financial literacy in Canada, specifically for young adults.

In our education system, we learn very little about things like how income tax, credit cards, different types of savings accounts, etc.

Finding quality information can sometimes be hard and overwhelming, so we’ve decided to make a website to curate and aggregate some information for learning these kinds of topics into a textbook of sorts.

We don’t claim to know everything, but we’ve been fortunate enough to learn some of this necessary knowledge through our personal lives.

We tried to keep the cost of start-up as low as possible, so it was designed under some theme constraints of Wordpress.

We’re launching the website today and have our first set of articles out, teaching things such as how student loans work, and what to keep in mind when buying your first car, etc...

We plan on adding one or two articles every week until we run out of things to write about. Our upcoming articles will include things like “Getting into entrepreneurship”, “How a mortgage works”,“Different types of savings accounts”, etc.

Please take a look and give us some criticism! Any ideas for more articles, design changes, and fixes are all welcome!
