I just bought a house in Alabama and I want to rebuild the fence, which is 95% fallen apart. Most of the wood posts are completely rotted below ground level, but there's also a metal post that looks like it was used for a later repair that snapped at the ground when I went to pull it up, which makes me a little nervous. The clay-like ground here is uniquely unfriendly to most forms of life and material, and I want the new fence to last as long as humanly possible (at a reasonable-ish cost, of course). So how do I ensure my yardgard posts last as long as possible? Or am I off to the wrong track entirely and should be looking at treated wood? via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2pNbtZx
