Hello.
This summer, I will be living entirely by myself for the first time in my life. All of my housing (including utilities, parking, electricity, etc) comes to $700 a month. I will be making $4000 a month before tax.
I have never lived alone / supported myself before, so I really have no idea what I'm supposed to do with the money leftover after rent. I was going to base most of my eating off budgetbytes; however, I have recently gathered a strong motivation to get into better shape. I have access to a gym for free - I just don't know how to eat protein-rich meals for cheap.
On top of this, I feel like just sitting on top of money really isn't very productive. What are some resources I can look to in order to attempt to invest the amount of money I'll have leftover?
Is it helpful to have a preplanned agenda for all of my expenditures? The only amount I'm certain of right now is the $700 fee a month.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
