I am a Registered Nurse, that is transitioning from an inpatient setting to an office setting. I currently make $30 hourly, and the offer I have from my new facility is $25 hourly (the email from HR states this is the median rate in the market for this position). The position is 40 hours a week. I understand that office nurses make less money than inpatient nurses, but would love to get closer to my current rate. The new position is salaried, the old one was hourly. I have a couple questions.

1.) How do I negotiate an increase without losing the offer?

2.) how do benefits play into the compensation picture in regards to salary?
