So, I'm removing an interior kitchen wall and i'm worried about the joists dropping in the future. Because of distance between exterior walls each joist is made of three 2x6s sandwiched together at 2 different points. Some of those joints are directly over "Wall A".Before the wall is gone i want to reinforce the ceiling but i'm not sure what the best way forward is in this situation. Should i brace joints to the roof rafters? Should i run a perpendicular brace over all of the joints? If so, do the ends of the perpendicular brace need to land on exterior walls? How should i attach the joists to the brace? Any other options i don't know about?TL;DR- Need to add support to the ceiling. How? via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2rxVSxo
