I spend so much money on groceries. It's just me and an 11 year old, and it breaks my budget every week. I have no idea how it even happens, just all of a sudden I've spent a ton of money.

I've been searching and reading for basic advice, but I am overwhelmed. I don't know how to start here. I am great with money in general, it's just groceries that are killing me!!

What is the most basic advice you can give someone? Like an absolute beginner trying to wrangle their groceries.

How much should a 2 people house even spend? What is realistic? HELP

MORE INFO: I really never learned to cook. A big part of the problem is I don't make real meals that often it's mostly what's easy and not too awful for her. Often I try to feed my kid as healthy but as simple as I can and then I just eat whatever's easy. I'm willing to take the time and learn new skills but am super lost about how to even start. My kid eats a lot of chicken and veggies and things like spaghetti and quesadillas.

Any food specific ideas I would really love.
