Hello, long time lurker, first time poster
My previously very estranged mother was released from prison last fall, homeless. I've written her out of my life a few times; my grandma raised me for most of my life. She's only been incarcerated for D.U.I. stuff, but multiple times.
I’m a sahm, with a partner who supports our family of 5, there's not much room in our budget. We took her in initially, but now we're drowning.
I'm looking for resources to help her get on her own. She's 52, a fellon and has physical difficulty (was given a wheel chair in prison, uses a cane mostly now), she also got her GED recently. She gets food stamps monthly, and that does help.... but I don't even know where else to begin. I was hoping she'd use the support as a stepping stone, but she's made no progress on her own so far.... and things are reaching a tipping point.
Any input would be greatly appreciated. If it's helpful we are located in Wisconsin. TIA!!!
