I am 23 with no kids. I moved to South Dakota a few years ago where I dropped out of college to work a 9-5 office job. I have approximately two more years left of school if I were going full time. I was semi-successful with my office job receiving multiple raises and I am now making $35,000 a year (not much but decent wage for the Midwest and no degree). I bought a house and immediately had roommates so my monthly living costs are around $550. I am regretting not staying in school while I had the resources to do so and have found I cannot advance without a degree. In a perfect world I would like to quit my office job, apply for loans that would cover living expenses, tuition, books etc. I would take 15-18 units a semester and try to work at a coffee shop or bartend 3 days a week for extra income all so I can receive my degree as fast as possible but I don't know exactly financially how that would work. My family would like me to keep my office job and take 1-2 classes a semester which would take me at least 5 years to achieve and I would still have to take a loan out to cover tuition. I am not getting any younger and while I do not have children I am responsible for, I would like to make a better life for them when that time comes. I am asking for more options as maybe I am being naive with what direction I should truly take.
