I don't know which one to get. There aren't that many videos on YouTube for the 570 but I think we've all seen the "Will it blend" theatrics. If you have any experience (especially with the 570), please do share your input.

Uses

Smoothies and juice only.

Concern - Dealing with a defective blender

My main worry is about dealing with returns and a faulty blender. Costco has a very generous return policy and will take it back unconditionally within 90 days of purchase. Groupon requires that the blender be returned within 14 days, not enough time to really test the blender out.

However, I noticed that I see tons of refurbished Totals but I don't see any refurbished 570s. Does this imply that the "simpler" 570 is actually better?

Concern - Price

Groupon has a deal on the Costco version with a Wildside Jar for $240 (it was $220 for a short period of time and may come down again).

Costco has the Total with a Wildside Jar and an additional Twister Jar for $400. Excluding this extra jar, the cost of the Total is $300 vs. $220 for the 570.

So, basically, the Total is $80 more expensive and gives a few more speeds and pre-programmed cycles but that's about it.
