After transitioning to Ally from Tradeking (forced), they decided to force-sell some of my stock to make my account no longer negative (Tradeking had charged me inactivity fees but never collected them). Ally did not contact me before this forced sale. They charged me a commission of 4.95 on it (about a 5% fee).
However, they sold the wrong amount and therefore my account still owed 59 cents. So today they decided to force sell $1.16 worth of stock, for which they charged a 4.97 fee. Again without telling me or informing me there was an issue.
You can do better with another company, I'm sure of it. I sure as hell am closing my account.
