Hey reddit! Just checking back in, my previous post i deleted in a drunken rage because i was embarrassed and depressed (quick summary: i bought a new car for myself and my ex girlfriend to share, i took us on a vacation, and i lived like i was making much more money than i was. I wound up with nearly 12k in credit cards and 28k [with 9% int] on my car loan. We ended up breaking up and i lost me job.) However i still kept all the messages you guys sent me and stayed on track. After lots of research i decided to sell my car and take on the bulk of the loan that was left.
Since my past post i have gotten a new job bartending at a busy restaurant near my house. Since my primary income now is cash tips it has been VERY easy for me to save. I still owe 8k on my car loan (i had to default to lower my ~$500 p/m payment) which i am paying 200$ per month to pay off. I still owe an additional 4k in credit cards. 3k on chase amazon card 22% interest and 3k on my local credit union 8.9% interest. I have 3k cash saved up in a safe at home from the last couple months of busting my ass.
Main reason for this post is a thank you but also what do i do next!? Y'all helped me so much before and im wondering what to do with the next few steps. Im thinking i should pay off the high interest amazon card first...Is there a way i can get better rates on my loan/cards without defaulting? ... a lot of people told me to go the bankruptcy route but I dont think thats the beat option...please comment or inbox me if you have any questions...im 22 years old and dont have any family in town to help. Thanks again so much. I already see the light and life has gotten a helluva lot better.
