I just wanted to give a shout out to the PF community. Currently I am a senior at a small college and a peer mentor for the money management center on campus. I started following this subreddit my freshmen year when I moved out of the dorms and looking back that was one the best situations I could have made. Between working 20-30 hours a week, applying for scholarships and practicing what I learned from this subbreddit, I am debt free.

Last Spring I joined the investment club at school and a buddy approached me about working for the money management program on campus. I told him about some of the financial situations I have been and showed him this subreddit as well as /r/MealPrepSunday. I decided to apply this summer and was accepted to be a peer mentor for students on campus. One of my main responsibilities is to have one on one consultations with students that face financial trouble. 90% of the people that come in are a pretty routine consultations but the last 10% can be a bit tricky. That is where I wanted to thank you guys because usually with enough digging, I can find something that is pretty similar. Not only does give me a new perspective on a situation I am not comfortable speaking on but it is used as a teaching tool for the students. Usually I show them the thread and tell them that the wiki section on this page can be a guide for them in the future. I have heard from plenty of surveys that they still use browse this subreddit if they have any questions.

You guys have been been a great influence on me and thanks again!
