First time posting! Okay, I’ll try to make this short. I graduated in 2015 with a bachelor’s in Criminal Justice, (I know not that marketable) I have 1/2 years experience with an internship working with sexual abuse victims, had a 3.9 GPA, and I have been working in Financial Crimes in a call center for a top bank for the past eight months.

I currently make $15.05 an hour. I was told when I was hired that I could transfer in 6 months. I had planned to transfer as a Financial Crimes Analyst which estimates at $50,000.

I have been reading on here to not to expect a huge pay increase if I work at the same bank. I have the qualifications for this position, but all of my applications keep getting rejected because my company retroactively changed the transfer rule and now they’re claiming we can only leave the department after a full year.

I don’t know what to do. Can they keep me in the department for a full year? Do I need to switch banks to expect anything over a $1.00 raise? I can’t keep making $33,000 a year. Any help is appreciated.
