Hi /r/Investing,
I have a question about dividends that are reinvested as shares. I am currently on Scottrade and in my personal settings, I get to choose whether I want dividends to be paid out in cash or shares.
My question is, let's say I own 20 shares of $T and at the time the dividend is paid out, the price is at $40. Meanwhile, $T pays $0.41 per shares, which come out to $8.20. If I set my setting to pay dividends in shares, do I get fraction of the shares?
I used the search button but most of the answer says if $T is a sponsor of DRIP, I would be able to do that, but how do I find out if $T allows DRIP?
Thank you for the replies and sorry for the noob question
