Long story short, I have muscular dystrophy and can't stand up from a low seated position, which is the case with 99% of office chairs that I have come across. My solution was to buy a standard office chair, take the gas cylinder off, and replace it with a drafting stool gas cylinder, such as this one, so that the height of the chair is greatly increased. This makes the chair freakishly high for most people, but perfect for my needs. I sit at my desk for 12 hours a day, so I need something real comfortable, and I have experience using the Aeron chair for a few months in my college's library, and i remember them being super comfy, so I'm looking into getting one. The only thing is, I have no idea if I would be able to easily swap cylinders. Does anyone have any insight into this?
