Situation: New construction condo, lawn was seeded in summer of 2015. Contractors rolled out a bunch of that straw carpet with the seed embedded in it, right on top of the fill dirt. I watered the hell out of it and it was great for the few months, but a lot of it didn't survive the winter. It was mostly a dirt patch last summer, I dug out all the rocks near the surface, put down seed myself and watered. Some grass came in, but it was pretty anemic and again didn't survive the winter. What are my options here? I think the issue is there is basically no soil. Is it worth it to add dirt (and then seed)? I'd have to do it by bags, since there is no way for me to get a load of it dumped anywhere. My other thought was sod, but that might be expensive.Area is approximately 25' x 50', direct sunlight until 3:30, Eastern PA. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2q2UKkb
