Hi all, I was looking at duvet covers online, but the ones I'm interested in are upwards of $100. I thought it would be cheaper to make my own, so I started looking at buying fabric by the yard. I was surprised to find that fabric with any sort of pattern on it will be at least $7 a yard.
For a full size bed, I'd need to buy at least 6 yards of fabric per side of the duvet cover, which comes out to almost $80 for the whole thing (and that's on the cheaper side of fabric by the yard).
Has anyone here tried making their own duvet cover, and if so, how much did it cost? If I consider the work and time to make the cover, it seems like making my own is comparable to buying it. Any suggestions?
