Hi /r/DIY. I want to build this Ikea shelving unit from scratch and wanted to know if it's even doable. I don't have any experience building something like this.What wood and finish would you recommend? (Probably a hardwood I'm guessing) How much do you estimate it would cost? Do you think it's doable with no experience?It seems pretty straightforward. Just figure out the measurements, buy the lumber, drill the holes, cut the gaps, put it all together.Not sure if the metal pieces that hold the boards together are available at stores.
